Gold Mine Information

As a supplementary business in 2000 Clark-Wiltz Mining began a Metal Detecting venture on the Ganes Creek property to make further use of the previously mined areas in the Ganes Creek Valley. Due to the inefficient bucket line dredge and bull-dozer operations of the past, a vast number of large nuggets were lost during the course of operations. Since our startup in 2000 over 1600 ounces of large gold nuggets have been recovered, and Ganes Creek has become one of the largest Metal Detecting Site in the State of Alaska, and in the vicinity of 75-100 people a summer come through the doors at Ganes.
